Love the Shapton glass stones and have several of them. Although not the cheapest, they work great. The 1000 is the best all-round stone of the range. You can start out with it before proceeding to finer grades. Or if you use only one stone, this one will do the trick.

This is a very good stone for a very sharp price. It also fit's on the boxes of the normal shapton stones. Super survice at knivesandtools!!!
